Match Report

Match Report - 03 Jul 2024, Tiverton Canal Bowling Club Over 60's navy beat Marina B

Pleasant sunny afternoon, fast tricky green. John's triple started well going 9 - 3 up after seven ends thanks to excellent leading from Chris, and backed up by Kevin Parkin. However a brief blip saw their opponents fight back to level 9 -9 at the halfway point. John's side stuck with it and were holding plenty on a number of occasions only for their skip to make a saving shot at the last but even so they could only secure two more ends with Borough taking seven, all being singles for a 16 - 11 win.
Pete Chidgey's side, with Phil B leading and Andrew Hingston in for his first 'Gold' match, had a mixed start but it was level 5 - 5 after eight ends. After a '3' against, Chidgey saw his side secure a '5' for a 12 - 9 lead and by the fifteenth they were 16 - 11 and looking in a strong position. Madeira, however, were proving to be very tenacious and managed the last few ends well, finishing with a '2' on the last which secured them the win, 16 - 18. Disappointment but still a good 6 points against a side who had won all their previous home matches.

TBBC 'Gold' = 1 Winning Rink (32 Shots) 6 Points
