Weather rather cloudy and on the cooler side. Green quite fast.
Borough 'Maroon's were up against top side, South Molton B and started really well on one rink (Tony B/Rod/Kevin L) and they kept it going to go 19 - 8 after fourteen ends. Our other triple (Tony C/Pete T/Lloyd) went 1 - 5 down but picked up a '5' to get them 9 - 6 ahead. They remained ahead until the fifteenth end when a couple of wheels wobbled and trailed off into the distance 😟, dropping a '4' and '5' to go 12 - 20 down with two ends left 😱. In the end they finished 13 - 21, 8 shots adrift.
Meanwhile, Kevin's side were battling to keep their good lead but . . . . a second '2' against on the penultimate end made it squeaky bottom time, 21 - 10, 9 shots up The last end was not for the faint hearted, looking in danger, possibly 2 down, Rod came in on to bowls and somehow moved the Jack to gain shot 🙂 Thankfully it remained shot although there was a moment when there was an audible sharp intake of breath but thankfully it remained '1' up to Borough and so a 22 - 12 win was the outcome 😎 Thus a brilliant 6 Points secured giving 'Maroon's more than a fighting chance for a promotion place
