Friendly against Taunton Vivary was a lovely afternoon, bands playing in the park, and a wonderful spread of sandwiches and cake. All that spoilt it was the bowls....
It was a game of two halves, neither of which was any good for us. Going into tea after 10 ends, we were 27 to 46 down. In the end, we were 58 to 86 down. We had one winning rink, well done to Peter Thornton, Alice and Colin. Andy, Rod and Tony were 9 adrift and Peter Sheldrick, Lesley and I were 4 down. Dave Hoaen, Margaret and Peter Brewer had the stiffest opposition who took no prisoners. Winning 13 of the ends, including an 8, they romped away to a 33 to 10 win. Not very friendly!
Over all a very enjoyable game and we can look forward to seeing them again next year.
