Match Report - 20 Aug 2025, Tiverton Canal Bowling Club Over 60's navy lost to Honiton
At home against fellow promotion chasing side, Honiton A. They're tidy side and made it very difficult for us. Stewart's side got off to a decent start but then struggled to keep Honiton out for a number of ends to go 6 - 17 down. However, Stewart managed to see his side produce a decent response in the latter stages, reducing the deficit to '6', finishing 15 - 21. My triple started well, 5 - 0 after four, but then ended up 5 - 8 down three ends later. Undeterred, we fought back, picking up a '5' to help us move to 13 - 8 up by the tenth. Again, Honiton responded, closing the gap to 14 - 13 after thirteen. We stuck at it and got to 19 - 13 with one end to go, just needing to win that last end for an overall win 🙏 Unfortunately, it was an untimely loose end for us and despite the Honiton skip almost moving the Jack to us, they secured a single, 19 - 14. So we just missed out at the death 😪 2 Points only and probably out of the running for a promotion place.
