Match Report - 10 Jul 2025, Tiverton Canal Bowling Club Men Foxlands and Top Club and County Troph beat Hemyock c/t
County Trophy v Hemyock (Away) A hot and sunny evening, playing across the Club house, which meant sun in the eyes for a time. A steady start became more and more promising for TCBC across lush green. Kevin Finan's side kept their momentum going from 6 - 6 after eight ends and finished with a flourish for a 23 - 12 win 🙂 Stewart's side began brightly, but then got pegged back before falling 13 - 18 behind after twelve. But Stewart still felt confident and sure enough, secured eight of the last nine ends for a 24 - 19 win. Phil & Phil's side were in overdrive from the off and built a 13 - 3 lead after eight. After brief lull, they got back into overdrive, with an impressive conversion or two from Phil Atkins, for example 3 down to a 4 up! And they came home more than comfortably with a 28 - 12 win. Bringing up the rear was my rink. After a decent start, thanks to two tremendous shots from Mr Lower to gain shot from the opposition lead who was sat on the Jack on the first two ends. After that, it was looking rather downhill, and the thought of a repeat of Monday's experience loomed 😔 with the score at 2 - 9 down. But we plugged away, as always, and gradually pulled our way back into the match. In the end, we didn't get the win, but 12 - 15 meant just the 2 Points lost, as we won 87 - 58 overall to pick up 12 Points. Not bad against a decent Hemyock side at theirs. Well our all players!
