Match Report - 04 May 2025, Tiverton Canal Bowling Club Friendly Triples beat Uffculme 4 x 3
Stewarts triple dominant performance, dropping just five ends, ensured an overall win for TCBC based on shot difference but despite that, Uffculme will have been the happier of the two Clubs having secured two winning rinks with one drawn from the four played.
Phil's side battled hard to come from being behind for much of the match but having finally got into a 1 shot lead on the penultimate end, saw the advantage snatched away on the last, with '2' shots going Uffculme's way.
Kay's triple, with last minute call ups, Oliver and Colin, enjoyed a very steady performance for large parts of their match but a dropped '5' on the fifteenth suddenly put them '3' shots behind but they stuck to their guns to ensure a fair share of the spoils.
Maggie's triple, after winning the first two ends found themselves slightly on the back foot but after looking to be getting on equal terms, had the match taken away in the finals stages despite picking up '3' on the penultimate end.
All in all it proved a very good afternoon of bowling played in a very friendly spirit, something we've become accustomed to with fellow bowlers from Uffculme.
The afternoon also included a pairs match between players from TCBC which was evenly contested.
