Blues had a tussle this afternoon against Maderia B and came away with just 2 points. Kevin Lower, Barry and Phill were chasing hard and were within 2 points on the 14th end but losing a 5 on the 15th end, when the opposition nudged the jack back, made it too much of a gap to close. Ending 15 to 20 down.
Andy Hingston (on loan from Whites), Peter Thornton and I were similarly on the back foot up to the 13th end, trailing 9 to 13. Landing on the dreaded '13' put the mockers on Maderia 's progress and we took 7 on the next 4 ends to lead 16 to 13. Losing a 2 on the last end left us winning by one point.
