Match Report - 08 Jul 2026, Tiverton Canal Bowling Club Over 60s Blue lost to Bradninch B
Another very hot afternoon with the green reportedly spongey underfoot with areas of brown grassy bits.
Despite the return of Charlie and Chris, the Blue's couldn't overcome Bradninch on their own turf. Kevin Lower, given the skips role, saw his side go closest having fallen 1 - 8 behind, they they got back to within '2' shots. Alas, Bradninch pulled away again to go '10' shots ahead with four ends to play. Those ends went Canal's way with a '4' to start but the were restricted to singles for the remainder, finishing three shots behind, 16 - 19. A great effort!
Phill Goss, might argue they drew the short straw against a triple that included Derrick Moon and Martyn Beed. A single on the first was all they could muster until the back nine, finding themselves a forlorn looking 1 - 23 down after nine ends. A couple of ends finally went their way before Bradninch continued their onslaught to go 4 - 28 up. Phill managed to secure a couple more ends but it was way beyond redemption at that point, finishing 7 - 29.
